3M 218 2800 4735 4737 Sc0tch Fine Line Tape for Paint Preparation Masking

3M Sc0tch® Fine Line Tape 218 is a high-performance polypropylene plastic tape that has both a low profile and high adhesion for use in painting long straight lines and sweeping curves where a crisp, sharp paint line is desired. It is often used as a layout tape for high value multi-color and custom painted graphics. 
 

2800 provides sharp lines and clean removal with no residue, tracking or bleeding, and it resists ghosting. It is designed for fine line paint masking on thermoplastic olefin (TPO) surfaces as well as on metals and other materials, and to handle bake cycles up to 300°F (148°C) for 30 minutes. This tape has a translucent backing that assists in placement and allows visual confirmation that the adhesive is wetted out on the surface. 

4735 is a highly conformable tape used to achieve sharp contrast and color separation while painting on highly contoured, curved and shaped surfaces. It has proven successful in high-temperature painting applications requiring a highly conformable tape.

4737 features a natural rubber, pressure sensitive adhesive that holds reliably to surface contours. Its smooth, vinyl backing provides conformability for working with complex shapes and curved surfaces. Due to its specially developed backing, this tape resists lifting around corners or in depressed areas. This tape removes cleanly after bake cycles with temperatures reaching 300°F/149°C for 30 minutes.

Features

• 218 features a natural rubber pressure adhesive capable of delivering the high instant adhesion necessary for critical, large-scale paint applications. The polypropylene backing is stiffer than vinyl fine line tapes, while conforming easily around corners. It features good moisture and solvent resistance. It resists heat in bake cycles that reach 250°F/121°C for up to 30 minutes.
• 2800 HEAT RESISTANT: Formulated for bake cycles up to 300 °F (149 °C) for 30 minutes on TPO surfaces.
