The 3 M 5421 UHMW film tape uses special UHMW-PE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) as its carrier material and is coated with rubber adhesive. UHMW-PE, a thermoplastic, boasts a remarkable 'slip plane' effect that effectively reduces squeaks, rattles, and other noises associated with movement. The rubber adhesive ensures good initial tack for immediate bonding to material surfaces, and the liner can be customized in various sizes and shapes. All these properties make 3 M 5421 tape an optimal choice for demanding impact wear or sliding scenarios. Additionally, 3 M 5421 tape is the thinner version of 3 M 5423 tape.
